IWC MASTER OF INTEGRATED WATER MANAGEMENT PROGRAM

 

  • In 2007, the International WaterCentre will launch a three semester Master of Integrated Water Management Program.
  • The centre will also offer a Graduate Certificate (1 semester) and Graduate Diploma (2 semesters) of Integrated Water Management. 
  • The programs will be badged by the Centre’s member universities – The University of Queensland (UQ), Griffith University, Monash University and the University of Western Australia (UWA) – four of Australia’s leading universities.
  • The programs will be hosted by The University of Queensland in Brisbane.
  • The programs are aimed at:

-          Honours Graduates or equivalent from related fields of study, with appropriate post qualification experience

-          Mid-career water professionals from within Australia and overseas, particularly from developing countries

  • The programs are committed to equipping water professionals with appropriate skill sets to:

-          respond effectively to the global water crisis

-          drive interdisciplinary innovation through holistic approaches to water management at local, national and international levels

  • The Masters course comprises a foundation semester, specialisation semester and integrated water management project with students designing and undertaking self directed project work with academic supervision. 
  • The programs feature problem based learning approaches, case study applications, field visits and industry placements to allow for the transfer of skill sets in real world contexts.
  • The International WaterCentre is an education, training and research centre dedicated to providing the most advanced water resource management skills and services in the world, specialising in the practical application of whole of water cycle management approaches at the local, national and global scale.   
  • IWC is a joint venture partnership of Griffith University, Monash University, The University of Queensland and The University of Western Australia.  IWC universities are ranked among the world’s leading educational institutions in teaching and research. 
  • IWC is supported by the State Government of Queensland, Australia. The IWC partnership includes the International Riverfoundation and the Southeast Queensland Healthy Waterways Partnership.
