Our approach to water management

Integrated approach

Water management consists of multiple dimensions. In our work in education and training, applied research and consultancy, we are mindful of the many variables, such as culture, society, engineering, science, environment, governance, politics and economics, involved in water management.

The IWC approach to water management consists of:

  • Problem identification and project scoping
  • Leadership and strategic advice
  • Information sharing and capacity building
  • Project management and evaluation

Whole-of-water cycle approach

The IWC approach to water management is informed by the whole-of-water cycle approach which acknowledges the interconnectedness of water in the landscape and in human and natural systems.
