Masters part time & distance option

The Collaborative and Structural Reform Grant

In late 2007, IWC was awarded a grant from the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations through the Collaboration and Structural Reform (CASR) Fund (which had been originally administered by the former Department of Education, Science and Training) to enhance the development of the
Master of Integrated Water Management Program.

The prestigious CASR grants are awarded to recipients who demonstrate they can achieve better higher education outcomes in teaching, learning, research and innovation by promoting structural reform and collaboration in the sector. The project will improve the MIWM Program by facilitating further collaboration between the member universities, assisting with necessary structural changes and enabling the development of more innovative learning materials.
Part time and distance delivery of the Master of Integrated Water Management Program will be available in  Semester 2, 2009. Key components of the project include:

Development of modular and distance delivery modes

The CASR project will enable the Integrated Water Management Program to be repackaged into a modular format for part-time, on-line, international and distance delivery modes.

Development of innovative multimedia teaching tools

The CASR project will develop a web-based learning platform and on-line collaborative space for exploring water issues, and will make creative use of multimedia, interactive and on-line learning tools.

Strengthening of the cross-institutional quality assurance framework
A key focus of the CASR project will be to put in place a robust system for Program quality assurance which will consist of Program Quality Review Panel and an External Advisory Group.

Enabling enrolment at multiple universities

The CASR project will help to facilitate course accreditation across all of the Member Universities.

Dissemination of lessons learned
The CASR project will enable the IWC teaching and administrative team to distilling lesson for wider dissemination in the education and water sectors.
