Tasleem (Fiji)
After almost a decade of work in water management across the Pacific Ocean, Tasleem Hasan is furthering his skills through the Graduate Certificate in Integrated Water Resources Management, offered at Griffith University by the International WaterCentre.
“With this enhanced knowledge I will be better placed and more confident in discussing issues on catchment management and maintaining ecosystem health with the range of stakeholders I deal in my work.”
Despite a wealth of practical experience working with the Pacific Islands Applied Geosciences Commission (SOPAC), Tasleem says he is learning a lot, and he enjoys the interactive and integrated nature of the course.
“I think an integrated approach to water management is absolutely vital because of the cross cutting nature of water,” he says. “Water is the foundation of good public health, healthy ecosystems, agriculture, tourism, cultural beliefs, and social and economic growth.”
“The course coordinators and lecturers have been splendid,” says the Fijian native, “and I am glad to be able to foster new relations with other fellow course colleagues, lecturers and the wider Griffith family for future professional networking.”
