Peter Speldewinde is an assistant professor with The University of Western Australia’s Centre of Excellence in Natural Resource Management. Peter teaches restoration ecology at the undergraduate and postgraduate level. With a background in ecology and endangered species management, and a PhD in population health Peter’s main research interests are the impacts of ecosystem degradation on human health. In particular, how ecosystem degradation impacts on vector-borne disease and water-borne pathogens, and can ecosystem restoration be used as a tool to reduce disease rates?
