Value of Scholarship
Domestic students: Scholarships for students who are Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens or permanent residents include both full-tuition and partial-tuition scholarships for the MIWM Program.
International students: Scholarships for international (overseas) students includes full-tuition or partial-tuition scholarships of the MIWM Program and Overseas Student Health Cover for the period ofenrolment in the Program.
Restrictions
IWC Water Leader Scholarships cannot be used to for any purpose other than the recipients tuition payment and overseas health care.
Program of Study
IWC Water Leader Scholarships are to support students enrolled in the Master of Integrated Water Management Program only.
A student holding an IWC full scholarship may not concurrently hold another scholarship without the approval of IWC.
Duration of Funding
IWC Water Leader Scholarships fund both full and partial tuition fees for a maximum of 24 units, to be completed in a maximum of 4 years for full-time students; maximum of 6 years for part-time students,including field placement/s. International students on an Australian Student Visa are required to complete the program within the duration specified in the Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE). Requests for extensions to the period of study or temporary suspension of the scholarship must be made in writing to The University of Queensland for review on a case-by-case basis.
Deferral of Scholarship offer
IWC Water Leader Scholarships may only be deferred with written approval from the IWC. Recipients must take up their scholarship in Semester 1 annually.
Fieldwork
IWC Scholarship students may choose to conduct fieldwork in Australia or overseas as part of WATR7500 Integrated Water Management Project and/or WATR7200 Capacity Building and Community Development for IWRM. All costs related to field work are the responsibility of the Recipients. Recipients are solely responsible for obtaining relevant visas for overseas field work and for ensuring they are in compliance with all visa requirements.
Withdrawal or Termination of Award
The IWC Scholarship will terminate if:
- the student withdraws from the Program
- the student does not conform to the terms and conditions of the Scholarship; or the student does not conform to the relevant university partner’s rules and policies.
- The student does not complete each semester with satisfactory progress.
The IWC Scholarship will terminate if the Recipient does not resume the Program at the conclusion of a period of approved leave of absence or does not make arrangements for the approval of an extension to the period of leave of absence.
The IWC Scholarships are tenable at the relevant university partner subject to: satisfactory progress according to the university partner policies.
