More than 40 attendees from the Ministry of Water Resources, China (MWR), the Ministry of Environmental Protection, China (MEP), WWF, Asian Development Bank (ADB), research institutes, universities, AusAID and MOFCOM were present at the launch, including Ms Chris Schweizer from the Australian Government Department of the Environment, Water, Heritage & the Arts, who is a member of the Project Steering Committee.
Activities have commenced with a three-week technical training / study tour of Australia in late November 2009, and field work in the Liao and Pearl Rivers.
