Position available - Marketing Coordinator (Education)

The International WaterCentre (IWC) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to join its education team and contribute to marketing, communications and recruitment activities for the centre.

Are you a passionate marketing professional with experience in the education sector? We have a unique opportunity for a marketing and communications extraordinaire to join our high-energy, passion-driven education team to engage with water professionals both within Australia and internationally as they take the next step in their learning and development.
 
Reporting to the Marketing and Communications Manager you will lead education marketing, communications and recruitment activities with a focus on national and international marketing and communication strategies. The role will initially commence on a 12-month, fixed-term contract, with a view to a permanent position.
 
The International WaterCentre (IWC) is a joint venture of two leading Australian universities, The University of Queensland and Griffith University, with a vision of creating water leaders of the future. The IWC has developed and delivered a range of education and training programs and collaborative research activities to create innovative environments for people to share knowledge and build capacity in the challenging area of integrated water management. 

Purpose of the role: 

  • Increase the profile, within Australia and internationally, of the International WaterCentre and associated entities
  • Assist in development and implementation of the Centre’s and Entities overall strategic marketing plan and specific product plans
  • The role will involve ongoing market research in order to provide advice for the long-term strategic and business development of IWC in its key Australian and Asia-Pacific markets, as well as managing relationships with key partners
  • Be responsible for IWC’s Education Mar/Comms Strategy and WLP Mar/Comms Strategy 
  • Respond to priorities set by the Marketing and Communications Manager as required
 

The successful candidate ideally has a working knowledge of the higher education sector and international student recruitment; is capable of working with various digital platforms, including Adobe Creative Suite; is highly proactive and can show initiative, works well individually performing tasks or within a team, with a demonstrated ability to develop quality communications and marketing materials; and an appreciation of Australia’s strengths in education and water management within the global market.
