Position available - Senior Project Officer - Capacity Development

The International WaterCentre (IWC) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to join its projects team and contribute to capacity development, training and applied research activities of the centre.

Training Leader

The International WaterCentre (IWC) is seeking an energetic and enthusiastic person to lead training activities and contribute to business development, content development and delivery of training activities of the centre.

The IWC is a joint venture of leading Australian universities, The University of Queensland and Griffith University, with a vision of creating water leaders of the future. The IWC has developed a range of education and training programs and collaborative research activities to creating innovative environments for people to share knowledge and build capacity in the challenging area of integrated water management.

The IWC’s approach to training is to design courses to meet the real needs of course participants, utilise a range of adult pedagogies to ensure practical learning, and draw on emerging knowledge and expertise on innovations in water management, to deliver high quality and high impact training activities.

The IWC is seeking applications from candidates that have demonstrated leadership in teaching and learning in higher education environments, including experience in a variety of blended-learning delivery techniques including face-to-face and online methods.

In addition, demonstrated experience in teaching or practicing integrated water management approaches (or related topics), in non-accredited course design and delivery (including curriculum design, assessment, quality assurance and professional skills development) and an understanding of contemporary pedagogies for adult education and continued professional development, are desirable.

The successful candidate will be able to work effectively and independently in cross-cultural and team contexts, will have proven verbal and written communication and inter-personal skills, and strong organisational skills.

Position responsibilities include:

  • Lead business development activities for IWC’s training portfolio
  • Lead the development of IWC’s training and non-accredited training products and activities, including content and pedagogy development
  • Lead and contribute to the delivery of a range of IWC’s training activities, through facilitating and teaching on a range of topics related to integrated water management.
