Australian Leadership Award Fellowship - natural resource management in IWRM
In 2009 the IWC hosted a cohort of students from the Philippines National Water Resources Board and affiliated organisations.

The group participated in a 14-week program in the natural resource management aspects of IWRM.
The program included English communication skills training, post graduate level academic studies, field trips, a workplace industry placement and a technical study tour.
“The Maleny field trip was my most unforgettable experience,” one participant said. “The place was good, and the lecturer warm, knowledgeable, very energetic and entertaining. It was the experience of a lifetime.”
The program provided students with an insight into Australia’s approach to sustainable water resources management, and included modules in project management; water in the environment; wastewater treatment and recycling; water, poverty and livelihoods; and water supply, sanitation and wellbeing.
