North Queensland field trip
Students visited farms and natural resource management (NRM) organisations including Landcare and community-based and regional NRM bodies. They looked at land management and water quality improvement programs for protecting the Great Barrier Reef from water flowing from agricultural and pastural areas of North Queensland.

The students looked at methods of remote water treatment and sanitation at the Wujal Wujal indigenous community.

The students spent two days visiting the Great Barrier Reef to see the results of the water quality improvement programs on the mainland.
At Green Island on the Great Barrier Reef students looked at the advanced water and wastewater treatment facilities attached to the island's eco-resort.
Because of its situation on the reef the resort can afford virtually no waste emmissions into the ocean.
