IWC Alumnus looks at wastewater treatment energy efficiency

Murray Dancey, an IWC Master of Integrated Water Management Alumnus, recently co-authored an article on the results of a project benchmarking wastewater treatment plants in Australia. The technical paper has now been published in the November issue of the Australian Water Association (AWA) Water Journal.

Murray Dancey recently completed the IWC Master of Integrated Water Management (part-time/distance). In 2014, Murray worked for the Water Services Association of Australia (WSAA) as project manager on the Wastewater Treatment Plant Energy Benchmarking project. This project benchmarked 140 wastewater treatment plants from 17 water utilities in Australia for energy efficiency using a novel indicator that took into account the flow, energy and organic load of treating wastewater.

He recently co-authored a technical paper with Dr David de Haas from GHD on the results of this project which was published in the Australian Water Association (AWA) Water Journal November issue.
